The Hmong are an ethnic group living mainly in China, Southeast Asia, and some Western countries. Their beautiful, colorful, handmade, and traditional clothing are indicators of the various subgroups in the Hmong communities, such as the Hmoob Dawb/White Hmong, Hmoob Leeg/Green Hmong, Hmoob Dub/Black Hmong, Hmoob Txaij/Striped Hmong, and more! The subgroup names often reflect the colors and patterns of the clothing Hmong women wear. For example, Hmoob Txaij/Striped Hmong wear stripes on their sleeves whereas Hmoob Dub/Black Hmong wear indigo-dyed clothing that look nearly black. Interested in learning more?
